Biodynamic Craniosacral Therapy ~ My Studies and Training

A vital therapy for our times, Biodynamic Craniosacral Therapy has emerged when it is much needed. The compressive nature of life today with so many local and global challenges leads many into a grief that needs all of our resources to tend. Right action includes outer and inner responses. Biodynamic therapy awakens the transformative power of wholeness, reminding us of who we truly are and what we are called to do with our lives.

I began studies with the Upledger Institute in 1990 and became a certified practitioner. In 2000, I began a more comprehensive training with Dr. Michael Shea, and completed the 700-hour diploma program. Studies included palpation, anatomy, physiology, embryology, prenatal and perinatal physiology, somatic psychology, shock and trauma, and trauma recovery. The training also emphasized vital inner skills: presence, contact, stilling the mind, and opening the compassionate heart. Through Dr. Shea’s in depth training recognized by the Biodynamic Craniosacral Therapy Association of North America, I am a Registered Craniosacral Therapist.

I continued advanced training with my beloved teacher, Mike Boxhall, from 2003-2006. Mike taught what he knew, not concepts, but experiences. In Mike’s words, “Stillness is not something that we do. It is being, being at the centre of our true selves.”
